LinkedIn Adding Connections in LinkedIn

Making connections is the biggest reason to spend time on LinkedIn. It’s sort of like attending a networking event -- minus the appetizers and awkward conversation.

Step 1

Step 2

On the first screen you are given the option of either automatically finding all contacts from your email account, or manually adding select contacts.

Lets start by entering the email addresses for a couple of contacts and Clicking Send Invitations.

Step 3

Step 4

Click on the tab for Classmates.

This section will show you contacts you might have gone to school with, based on the info you gave LinkedIn.

Step 5

Click the People You May Know Tab.

LinkedIn is designed to show you people you might know based on your experience and your existing network.

If you’re just getting started with LinkedIn, you’ll see a page that lists people you may want to connect with.

Watch Your Network Grow!

As you add connections, you’ll see your network grow. For example, with 2 connections in our current network we are linked to nearly 67,000 other professionals!
