LinkedIn Setting Up a LinkedIn Profile

Your LinkedIn profile serves as your online business card. It tells people why they should connect with you and what types of content you might be sharing. In addition, it makes it easy for friends, colleagues, and potential customers or donors to find you online because your public profile is searchable. This is a place to show the world all the great things you've done in your professional life.
Let's start creating a profile.
Step 1
Start by going to: https://www.linkedin.com/reg/join
Step 2
You’ll see a sign-up box that looks similar to the one seen here.
Enter Your First Name.
Enter Your Last Name.
Enter Your Email Address.
Enter a Password.
Click Join LinkedIn.
Step 3
As a Small Business Owner, you want to reflect that in your LinkedIn Profile. So start by choosing “I am currently: A business owner” or which ever option applies from the drop down menu.
Choose Your Country.
Enter Your Zip Code.
Enter Your Company Name.
Choose Your Industry.
Click Create My Profile.
Step 4
In the interest of time, we’ll skip adding people we already know on LinkedIn. Don’t worry, we will come back to this later.
Click Skip This Step.
Step 5
Now it’s time to confirm your email address. In this case we used a gmail account. Your page might look slightly different depending on the email address you used to sign up.
Click Confirm my Account.
Step 6
Click Allow.
Step 7
Because we connected a Google account, LinkedIn will try to find people that you may already know in your Google contacts. Connecting with people you already know is an important step in building your network, but before you do this, we recommend that you first complete your profile.
We will come back to this step in a few minutes.
Click Skip This Step.
Step 8
This screen will ask you to enter the email addresses of friends and colleagues you’d like to connect with. Again, we should skip this step until our profile is complete.
Click Skip this step.
Step 9
Choose a LinkedIn Plan. We’re going to start with the Free Plan. You can always upgrade later.
Click Choose Basic.
